Traditional Chinese Medicine

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a human being is considered as a whole; body, mind and spirit are interconnected. The treatment aims at finding the cause of a disease or an imbalance in a person. Dealing with the problem at its roots makes the symptoms disappear, but more importantly, it allows the body to find its own balance, to use its own resources.

TCM tackles almost all kinds of muscular, skeletal, digestive, respiratory, skin-related, weight-related, urinary, gynecological, sexual, blood-related, mental, emotional diseases or imbalances. Among the healing methods used by TCM, acupuncture is undoubtedly the best known of all. It consists in applying thin needles into the body. These needles are placed along a complex system of channels of energy called meridians, which run along the whole body, feeding and connecting the different parts of it, including vital organs. The skilled acupuncturist chooses particular points along these meridians, which target specific organs or areas which need to be healed and rebalanced. However, although an essential part of chinese medicine, acupuncture is used along with other techniques, such as moxibustion (a warming technique), cupping (to improve circulation), tui-na (therapeutic massage), herbal treatments, advice on physical exercice (qi gong, tai chi chuan), relaxation techniques, diet, life habits. For a treatment, I use the technique or techniques which are the most appropriate for you.
